About the Laundry

The Laundry in Alingsås supplies healthcare within the Västra Götaland region with laundry, textiles, and sterile products. Every day, our production chain sorts and handles 37 tons of laundry, which we then deliver back to our customers. At the Pre-Treatment Unit, we receive and sort all incoming laundry and new goods using both manual processes and automation.

Job Responsibilities

As a laundry assistant in Pre-Treatment, you will work with the reception and sorting of incoming textiles and laundry. To promote a good working environment, you will rotate workstations several times during your shift. You are a crucial factor in ensuring the smooth operation of the machinery by adapting the handling of textiles based on product type and process part. The role also includes operating and monitoring machines and automated equipment, such as starting, stopping, and adjusting machines, as well as noticing and reporting any operational disturbances. Your contribution to ongoing control and improvement work is a central part of the operation and its development.

About You

We are looking for someone with a completed upper secondary education or equivalent work experience deemed comparable by the employer. You communicate fluently in Swedish and can follow written and oral work instructions as well as engage in dialogue with customers and colleagues. Since your workday is spent in an industrial environment, it is important that you have the physical ability to walk and stand throughout the workday, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks. The position also requires basic IT skills, meaning you are computer literate and have experience with digital tools. As you will be handling healthcare textiles in various conditions, you need to be comfortable with this and strictly follow hygiene routines and special instructions.

As a person, you are good at building positive relationships with customers and colleagues. You take responsibility, are meticulous, and loyal to your assignment. We are looking for someone who shows interest, willingness, and commitment to performing good work, and being flexible with any changes during the workday comes naturally to you.

Previous experience in industrial work is an advantage.

Practical Information

The position is a temporary job where the degree of employment may vary from week to week. If you enjoy working with us and we enjoy working with you, there are good opportunities for longer temporary positions during the summer. The Laundry operates Monday to Friday, and shifts are scheduled in two shifts. Weekend work occurs during holidays and on public holidays.

Early shift: Monday-Thursday 05:52-14:34, Friday 05:52-13:06

Late shift: Monday-Thursday 14:24-23:01, Friday 12:54-21:06
